Independence Day
We at Murulia An-Noor Society cherish the significance of August 15th, a momentous and proud day for all Indians. In celebration of our independence, our organization holds a small program honors the brave leaders who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Our President proudly hoists the national flag, and we come together to distribute food, sweets, and chocolates to people from all walks of life. The joyous occasion becomes truly memorable as we witness many joining us in celebrating our nation’s independence.
World Literacy Day
On September 8th, we observe World Literacy Day to emphasize the importance of literacy and education as foundations for personal and societal growth. We conduct awareness programs and workshops to enhance reading and writing skills, especially for underprivileged communities. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about literacy challenges and advocating for accessible education for everyone.
Netaji Jayanti
We also celebrate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, one of the most revered patriots of our nation. On every 23rd of January, we honor his struggles, sacrifices, and unwavering spirit. We place garlands on his photograph and pledge to build the nation he envisioned, reflecting on his ideals of freedom and progress. His legacy inspires us to work towards a stronger and united India.
Rabindra Jayanti
Rabindra Jayanti is observed by Murulia An-Noor Society every year on the 25th of Baisakh, bringing together our members and the local community. We hold a vibrant cultural program in honor of Rabindranath Tagore, where local children participate in performances and engage with his literary works. This celebration highlights Tagore’s profound contributions to literature and culture, fostering appreciation and understanding of his legacy among the younger generation.
Picnic
We organize a picnic every year for our members and volunteers, providing a much-needed break after months of hectic schedules. This day is filled with delicious food, games, and entertainment, creating a joyful atmosphere for everyone involved. It’s not just a day of fun; it’s an opportunity to strengthen our bonds and foster a sense of community among us. Together, we laugh, relax, and create lasting memories that enhance our collective spirit.
Annual Sports
We host an Annual Sports in which children from all backgrounds take part with great enthusiasm. This event serves as a platform to celebrate and appreciate individual sporting achievements. We also award the winners to recognize their hard work and dedication, aiming to inspire and encourage participation in sports and physical activities among all participants. Our annual sports event fosters a spirit of friendly competition, we promote health, teamwork, and camaraderie within the community.
Republic Day
We also observe Republic Day on January 26th to commemorate the adoption of India’s Constitution in 1950. On this significant day, our president hoists the national flag, and we sing the national anthem together. Local children are treated to chocolates, sweets, and other goodies. This occasion celebrates India’s democracy and constitutional values, fostering a sense of unity and pride among all.
Nazrul Jayanti
On May 24th, we observe the birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam, our Rebel Poet. This vibrant cultural program features passionate performances of his literary works through dance, song, and recitation. Enthusiastic performers come together to honor Nazrul’s invaluable contributions to Bengali literature and culture, reflecting the themes of love, freedom, and social justice in their art.
